Stories Place

When ever I hear stories about Pila Laguna from my Lolo and Mama...

I often think about exploring the place, most often their food such as Kinulob Itik, Bibingkang abnoy, bignay na lambanog at fresh salted eggs.

Well now there's a new story

We all know what lemonade is?
How about lemonata!? 😅

We love our halo-halo tila may sahog tayong hinahanap maliban sa ube't leche yung nata nasan yung nata yung may mangangata kaaa! 😂 Yung mga pinagaagawan na nata.

Bawat inom may ngangatain ka ingat kasi baka makagat labi.

Well let's look kung ano oa meron dito.

I'm craving for bacon dahil dito what's the best way to start your day with breakfast and breakfast is not only the important but also prevents tyoe two diabetes.

Who would pass a breakfast like this diba?

Hey men why stop there?

Ang mga pinoy mahilig sa
Carbs cube or Carbs over Carbs over Carbs.

Kaya samahan na natin matatamis, masherep at mala-tulo laway na pancakes ano kaya tagalog nito? 😅

Banaenae pancake speaking of Banaenae kulang ako sa potassium kaya i need this pancake like RN!

Anesh itoh? Di ko alam pero mukhang asulberry na may pa confetti 🎊 at whip creammy. Btw did you lnow that blueberry is reach in antioxidants tho I wonder whdat happens when you loose a lot of oxidants

Ito talaga eh ebarg kung lalasapin, TBH mas bet ko is Dark Chocolate yung 100% dark talaga yung tipong pait nalng pero savory parin tho ito eh chocolate over chocolate hahahah 😂

Di ko alam kung what's this tho revel means pakita kaya pinakita bar ko lng hehehe 😂 baba ng ligaya ko pero yan ang dahilan kung bakit madali maging masaya is by setting your standards low, by doing so you don't discourage yourself in life and others who surrounds you.

BTW time to get deserts na mukhang masarap din to samahan na natin ng mas malamig na saging con crema yelo. You know that right!? 😅

Banana Split BTW banana split is also a game kung saan tinetest yung flexibility mo at galing mo sa bato bato pik kadalasan mas kilala ang banana split sa pik en split.
Papaturo ka? 😅

Look at thaaaaaaaat!!! Ano yannnnn!!! Jokis food yan hahaha 😂 btw di ko alam talaga anong lasa nito makes me want to go to Stories Place myself

Lose Weight the Smart Way: Dietitians Share 10 Tips for Healthy Eating

Lose Weight the Smart Way: Dietitians Share 10 Tips for Healthy Eating
By: Susan Bowerman M.S., RD, CSSD, CSOWM, FAND – Sr. Director, Worldwide Nutrition Education and Training

When was the last time you consulted a dietitian? If you’re like most people, you may turn to friends or family with questions regarding weight management, starting a new diet or your personal nutrition. But that may cause even more confusion and uncertainty surrounding the choices you make to maintain a healthy weight.
A Survey of Dietitians on Weight Management
As a global nutrition company, we consult with members of our Dietetic Advisory Board* (DAB) from around the world to stay ahead of the latest nutrition trends, and develop training materials for our independent distributors to help their customers make informed decisions about nutrition. But we wanted to dig deeper and understand the key issues and challenges facing many struggling dieters.
We recently surveyed dietitians who attended the 2018 annual meeting of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics about their patient’s nutrition goals, diet-related misconceptions, behavioral hurdles, and challenges related to following a healthy meal plan. Highlights from that survey include:
Nearly 57% listed “losing weight” as the most common goal among patients reported by their dietitians.
Approximately 20% of dietitians reported “eating a healthier diet” as a goal or concern of their patients.
Among patients, the most common misconception is that “a very low carb diet is the best way to lose weight and keep it off.” This was reported by 31% of the dietitians surveyed.
Other common misconceptions include: “you should cut all forms of sugar from your diet” (24%) and “vegetarian diets are protein deficient” (20%).
When it comes to staying on regimen, more than half of dietitians (51%) reported “lack of motivation to stay on the plan” as their patient’s biggest behavioral obstacle.
Dietitians also observed that many of their patients struggled with the “inability to control portion size” (18%) and “inadequate time to prepare meals” (18%).
Practical Advice from Our Dietitian Nutritionists
To address these common dietary pitfalls, we asked our DAB members to share their top 10 tips to help you achieve your weight loss and nutrition goals.
Practical Advice from Our Dietitian Nutritionists
To address these common dietary pitfalls, we asked our DAB members to share their top 10 tips to help you achieve your weight loss and nutrition goals.

Tip 1: Don’t just focus on weight loss. Focus on a healthy diet.
“People should not focus only on body weight; they should focus on health. Eating healthy and having an active lifestyle is the best way to achieve a healthy body composition. Keep your focus on eating a healthy balanced diet and working out to build or maintain your muscle mass – and keeping this healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life.”
Ana Cristina Gutierrez, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, Costa Rica
Tip 2: Set and celebrate milestones during your weight loss journey.
“Celebrating every milestone is important to your weight loss effort because it keeps you looking at how far you’ve come, not how far you have to go. When it comes to weight loss, a slow and steady pace always seems to win the race, but that pace can feel frustrating at times. So, set plenty of little milestones along the way and find ways to reward yourself – you might want to buy a new article of clothing or treat yourself to a massage. Remember, you deserve it after all of your hard work!”
Aria Novitasari Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, Indonesia
Tip 3: Don’t fall victim to fad diets or social influence – find a healthy, balanced plan that works for you.
“Fad diets may lead you to temporarily lose weight, but is not a healthy way to lose because you risk losing some of your hard-earned muscle mass, rather than body fat.  Before falling for any social influence, remember the goal should not be only to lose weight, but to change your lifestyle for good with a healthy balanced diet and adequate physical activity.”
Sreyashi Moitra, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, India
Tip 4: Make sure you get enough protein.
“Protein is an essential nutrient that is important for optimal growth and development.  It is also essential for helping build and maintain muscle mass. Protein plays an important role in weight control, because it helps with hunger control.  Having adequate protein at meals and snacks, such as protein shakes or bars, helps to satisfy you.”
Alice Zhu, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, China
Tip 5: Incorporate healthy snacking.
“In today’s society, snacking contributes close to one-third of daily energy intake. But healthy, balanced snacks are an important part of a balanced diet. Taking in high-protein snack foods can help you feel satisfied, and may allow you to eat less at your next meal.  Rather than feeling guilty about snacking, learn to incorporate healthy snacking into your day.”
Vipada Sae-Lao, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, Thailand

Tip 6: Don’t cut calories too far or skip meals in order to lose weight.
“Dieting is not about how much you eat but what you eat, since food choice affects calorie intake the most. Extremely low-calorie diets can slow down metabolism and inhibit weight loss. Dietary modification helps you continue your weight loss journey while diet mistakes – like cutting too many calories, or skipping meals – can stop you from being successful.”
Venus Yuen, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, Hong Kong
Tip 7: Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate activity every day.
“One of the benefits of regular exercise is that it helps to burn calories, which can help with weight loss and weight maintenance.  And, regular moderate activity can also help release stress.  Think of ways to work more activity into your day.  For example, exit the subway or bus two or three stops before your final destination, and then walk the rest of the way on foot.”
HaNa Jang, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, South Korea
Tip 8: Learn ways to prepare quick, healthy meals.
“Planning ahead for your meals will help determine what ingredients you need to purchase, and help you to stock your refrigerator, freezer and pantry so you can prepare quick, healthy meals. Pre-preparing foods helps, too.  Foods that require longer cooking times, such as beans and whole grains, can be cooked in large quantities and then kept in the freezer to be used at another time. Vegetables can be washed and dried in advance for use during the week. Eating healthy is a great start to living a healthier lifestyle, but cooking healthier is the perfect way to help you maintain this healthy living.”
Carolina Pimentel, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, Brazil
Tip 9: Learn ways to practice portion control.
“Portion control is a key factor in weight control. If you learn to control portion sizes, you can reduce your total calorie intake.  To reduce portions, try using smaller plates, glasses, utensils and serving spoons. It also helps to always put your portion on a plate or bowl, rather than eating directly from packages, which can lead to overeating.”
Clara Lucia Valderrama, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, Colombia
Tip 10: Learn how to read food labels.
“Knowing exactly what you eat and drink is important when you’re watching your weight. Learning to read food labels helps, as it gives you information on calories, nutrient content and also serving size. This helps you with portion control and helps you make healthier food choices.”
Charlotte Lok, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, Singapore
BONUS Tip: Start your day with a balanced breakfast.
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A healthy, balanced breakfast can not only help you to manage your weight, concentrate at work or school, but it also helps you to stay focused on your activities.  Breakfast should include a balance of protein, carbohydrate, and fat. If you have a busy schedule, consider making a healthy shake instead of relying on fast food or skipping breakfast entirely.”
Chandra Lin, Member, Herbalife Dietetic Advisory Board, Taiwan

Herbalife Nutrition Level Up

Fostering a Healthier and More Productive Workplace from the Inside Out

By Stephen Conchie, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Herbalife Nutrition Asia Pacific

In recent years, the promotion of health and wellness at the workplace has shifted from being one of many employee benefits to become a strategic business priority. Not only does a positive working environment reduce absenteeism and corporate healthcare costs, having a culture that promotes health and wellness at the workplace plays an important role in driving employee engagement, raising business productivity and improving bottom lines.

At the same time, changing workforce dynamics are driving the growing emphasis on the need for corporate wellness. The Millennials at Work study conducted by Herbalife Nutrition in Asia Pacific found that seven in 10 millennials would be motivated to stay active if wellness initiatives were part of their company's culture. With millennials poised to form the majority of the global workforce by 2020, and 75 percent of the global workforce by 2025, this generation – known for their pursuit of healthy lifestyles - will have an increasing influence on workforce dynamics and employee policies.

As we cast our sights on the future of work during this year’s Global Employee Health & Fitness Month in May, it is also timely for business leaders to review the health and wellness policies at the workplace against a backdrop of major changes brought about by technology and demographics. With technology increasingly blurring the lines between work and personal life, the growing influence of millennials and a rapidly aging workforce, this presents a critical need for organizations to rethink health and wellness programmes for the future, and for everyone within the organization to play a greater role in shaping a positive working environment from the inside out.

For us at Herbalife Nutrition, we see three areas that are key in helping companies foster a healthier and more productive workplace for the future. These include promoting healthy active lifestyles, healthy eating, and mental wellness - involving business leaders and employees throughout the entire organization.

Promoting Healthy, Active Lifestyles Within and Outside the Workplace

In today’s technology connected world, striking a healthy work-life balance seems nearly impossible. With endless streams of demands being placed upon employees via a constant influx of emails and text messages, pulling all-nighters and desktop dining have become familiar scenes in today’s corporate environments.

To promote healthy, active living in today’s time-strapped working environments, organizations can make it easier for employees to adopt healthy eating habits and encourage physical activity by making these programmes more accessible for them. Simple initiatives that companies can start with include organizing exercise sessions during lunchtime or in the evening at the workplace or encouraging organization-wide participation in mass sporting events.

To push the envelope further, business leaders and managers should also be encouraged to lead their teams in healthy active lifestyle initiatives. For instance, we organized a Healthy Active Lifestyle Challenge as a fun and interactive company-wide competition for leaders and managers to rally their teams to take part in physical activity and healthy eating challenges. Through this initiative, not only did the participation in corporate wellness activities increase, we also saw a significant boost in employee morale and close-knit relationships were formed between the management and their team members, resulting in a positive effect throughout our entire organization.

Encourage Healthy Eating for Employees

Being confined to the work desk for long periods, it can be tempting for employees to reach for unhealthy snacks as quick and convenient means to fuel their brain and body. In view of this trend, organizations can encourage employees to be more conscious about their food intake, and work on organization-wide initiatives to get employees to take a greater interest in healthy eating.

For example, companies may organize healthy eating days where healthier food options are catered for employees; or install vending machines within the office to provide healthy snack options. For us at Herbalife Nutrition, we invest in providing complimentary nutrition products for our employees to promote healthy eating through the organization. With the belief that good nutrition will help to foster healthier employees and a healthier workplace, we also involve our resident nutrition experts to share healthy eating tips with our employees regularly to build healthy eating habits across our offices in Asia.

Prioritize Mental and Emotional Wellness for all Employees

With more employees finding it challenging to strike a good balance between their work and personal life, employees can often end up neglecting their personal mental and emotional well-being. To provide mental and emotional health support for their employees, organizations can play an active role to incorporate mental wellness as part of corporate health and wellness programmes. This can be as simple as organizing stress-relief activities such as art jamming classes and stress buster massages, like what we do at Herbalife Nutrition Hong Kong every quarter, to help our employees release stress at work for a healthier and happier life.

At the end of the day, building a healthy and more productive workplace begins from the inside out. With collective efforts made by the business leaders in shaping company-wide policies, the human resource teams and managers in rallying employees in organization-wide activities, and the employees themselves in fostering a healthy environment for their colleagues, this can have a multiplier effect in helping organizations shape healthier and happier workplaces for the future
